Theory Definition

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is a psychological theory proposing that humans are motivated to fulfill basic needs before moving on to more advanced needs. The theory is often depicted as a pyramid with five levels, where the most fundamental needs form the base.

Core Principle

Lower-level needs must be satisfied before individuals can attend to higher-level needs. This creates a progression from basic survival needs to psychological needs and finally to self-fulfillment needs.
